IMPORTANT INF0RMATION FOR AFCAT EXAMINATION

Online (Mandatory EKT for Ground Duty Technical branch along with AFCAT)

Age Limit – Flying Branch
20 to 24 years (Upper limit extended to 26 years for CPL holders)
Age Limit – Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical)
– Flying Branch (through AFCAT & NCC Special Entry): 20 to 24 years
  • Upper age limit is 26 years for candidates holding a valid Commercial Pilot License (CPL) issued by DGCA (India).
– Ground Duty (Technical & Non-Technical): 20 to 26 years
Marital Status
– Candidates below 25 years must be unmarried at the start of training.
– Widows/Widowers and divorcees (below 25 years) are not eligible.
– Candidates who marry after application but before training will be disqualified.
– Marriage during training will result in discharge, and expenses will be recovered by the Government.
– Married candidates above 25 years can apply, but they will not get family accommodation during training.

AFCAT 2025 – Detailed Educational Qualifications

To apply for AFCAT 2025, candidates must meet the minimum educational qualification requirements for different branches:

Flying Branch

  • Candidates must have 60% marks each in Mathematics and Physics at 10+2 level.

  • In addition, they must have any one of the following qualifications:

    1. Graduation (3-year degree course) in any discipline from a recognized university with at least 60% marks or equivalent.

    2. BE/B.Tech (4-year degree course) from a recognized university with at least 60% marks or equivalent.

    3. Cleared Section A & B examination of the Associate Membership of Institution of Engineers (India) or Aeronautical Society of India from a recognized university with at least 60% marks or equivalent.

Ground Duty (Technical Branch)

  • Minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

  • Minimum of 4-year degree in Engineering/Technology OR cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India.

  • Eligible disciplines include:

    • Communication Engineering

    • Computer Engineering/Technology

    • Computer Science and Engineering/Technology

    • Electrical and Computer Engineering

    • Electrical and Electronics Engineering

    • Electronics Engineering/Technology

    • Electronics Science and Engineering

    • Electronics and Communication Engineering

    • Electronics and Computer Engineering

    • Electronics Instrumentation and Control

    • Information Technology

    • Telecommunication Engineering

    • Instrumentation & Control Engineering

    • Applied Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering

    • Avionics

    • Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering (Microwave, Digital, etc.)

  • Minimum 60% marks each in Physics and Mathematics at 10+2 level.

  • Minimum of 4-year degree in Engineering/Technology OR cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India.

  • Eligible disciplines include:

    • Aerospace Engineering

    • Aeronautical Engineering

    • Aircraft Maintenance Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering

    • Mechanical Engineering (Production / Automation / Repair & Maintenance)

    • Mechatronics

    • Industrial Engineering

Ground Duty (Non-Technical Branches)

1. Administration Branch
  • Graduate Degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with at least 60% marks,
    OR cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.

2. Logistics Branch
  • Graduate Degree (minimum 3 years) in any discipline with at least 60% marks,
    OR cleared Section A & B of AMIE / Aeronautical Society of India with 60%.

3. Accounts Branch
  • Graduate Degree (minimum 3 years) in Commerce (B.Com or equivalent) with at least 60% marks from a recognized university.

Standard and Syllabus of the Examination

Comprehension, Detect Error in Sentence, Sentence Completion/ Filling in of correct word, Synonym/ Antonym, Cloze Test or Fill in the Gaps in a paragraph, Idioms and Phrases, Analogy, Sentence Rearranging, Substitution in a Sentence/ One Word Substitution.
History, Geography, Sports, National & International Organisations, Art & Culture, Personalities, Environment & Ecology, Indian Polity, Economy, Basic Science Based Knowledge, Science & Technology, Current Affairs (National & International), Defence.
Decimal Fraction, Time and Work, Average/ Percentage, Profit & Loss, Ratio & Proportion, Simple and Compound Interest, Time & Distance and Races (Trains/ Boats & Streams), Area and Perimeter, Probability, Number System & Number Series, Mixture & Allegation Rules, Clocks.
